Architectus opens Perth Studio

The new studio will be located on St George’s Terrace and will expand to roughly 20-30 people in the next 18 months.

MAKE Architects has moved

With an ever-growing team and portfolio, the Sydney outpost of the British practice has outgrown its old studio and is now in a new space, right nearby at 309 George Street.

 

Rothelowman Brisbane welcomes Duncan Betts

Duncan Betts is the newest principal at Rothelowman in Brisbane. Betts joins fellow Brisbane principal, Jeff Brown, who has been instrumental in driving the growth of Rothelowman’s Queensland practice.

In his eight years at Rothelowman, Betts has seen how leading a team with a collaborative national focus achieves high-quality design outcomes.

Woods Bagot appoints 10 new principals worldwide, with four in the Asia Pacific 

The three Australian appointments include regional interior design leader (Australia) Eva Sue, global chief operating officer Larisa Moran, and global chief financial officer Peter White. Larisa Moran and Peter White have both made a significant impact on Woods Bagot’s finance and operations platforms.

Vivian Yu has also been promoted to principal in the Beijing bureau.

Other appointments globally include Leslie Asher (San Francisco), David Brown (New York), Julian Cross (London), Matthew Engele (Dubai), Tarran Kundi (Enterprise), Katy Mercer (San Francisco).

Woods Bagot principals are selected through a rigorous and in-depth annual nomination and presentation process that reflects the global studio’s drive to deliver engaging, future-oriented work that responds to the way that people occupy space.

DKO announces four new associates

DKO Architecture has announced four new associates ? Simone Tyson, Ursula Gouw, Thanh Nguyen and Dominic Gaetani.

Simone Tyson, senior interior designer Melbourne, started with DKO as a student in August 2010. During her time at DKO, Simone has gained extensive experience in multi-residential, commercial and high-end single residential projects and leading teams of interior designers.

Ursula Gouws, a project architect in Melbourne, has 24 years of experience in most sectors of architectural delivery and across a broad spectrum of work including high-end residential, hospitality, institutional, corporate and commercial typologies.

Thanh Nguyen, the senior architect in Ho Chi Minh City, joined the DKO in 2014 after working locally on several large projects in the hospitality, residential and commercial sectors including projects in Cambodia.

Dominic Gaetani, architect in Melbourne, has eight years experience across multiple projects including multi-residential housing, medium and high-rise apartments, hotels and master planning.
