The Role
We’re looking for someone to join our fun and passionate design studio as a Sales Coordinator. We produce original Australian furniture, selling mainly to interior designers and architects. We pride ourselves on providing our clients with friendly, efficient and helpful service.

As a Sales Coordinator you will be in charge of looking after enquires, managing orders and coordinating deliveries. The role is a mix of working autonomously as well as coordinating with the Sales Manager, Design, Marketing and Production teams for any specific requirements. Being part of a small growing team, you will be included in many aspects of the business and will be encouraged to suggest improvements or systemic changes. We value input from all team members and enjoy working together to achieve our goals.

The Company
DesignByThem has been running for 10 years with the mission of developing and promoting great Australian design. We primarily sell furniture, alongside home accessories and lighting. We have a showroom based in Chippendale, Sydney and sell online in Australia and overseas. Our primary market is in Australia with a developing market in the USA.

Core Responsibilities

  • Respond to phone, email and online chat enquiries.
  • Maintain the CRM system/sales pipeline with precise customer and project information.
  • Provide resources and information to clients – primarily pricing, lead times and product information.
  • Coordinate with the design and production team on any custom furniture requests.
  • Generate quotes for clients and for the Sales Manager.
  • Enter and manage sales orders, working closely with the production team to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Organise deliveries to site, coordinating with client and our logistics partners.
  • Coordinate feedback from clients to the design team for new product development.
  • Collect data for the monthly report meeting
  • Research new lead and project opportunities and establish new pipeline contacts.
  • Book presentations for the Sales Manager.
  • Approve and set up Trade Portal applicants.
  • Arrange furniture samples for clients.
  • Organise showroom visits.
  • Attend key industry events on occasion.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in a dynamic customer service role.
  • Administration and online systems experience.
  • Excellent presentation skills, phone and email manner.
  • Experience with managing a sales pipelines (beneficial, but not essential).
  • Experience in the Architectural and Design market (beneficial, but not essential).
  • Passion for design, preferably with an design background.
  • Down to earth, fun and ambitious.
