About the Role

The position of Sales Consultant at ownworld is at the forefront of business development and client liaison for the Company. The aim of the Sales Consultant is to generate sales from an allocated client base with the support of other sales team members in a stimulating and supportive environment. This key person will drive the quality and quantity of product specifications across the market, assist to identify industry trends, be pivotal in building relationships, business leads and sales growth on a continuing basis.

Key Tasks

Sales – Architects and Designers

  • Foster and promote the ownworld brand and product collection in the Australian market with a view to developing recognition and sales generation
  • Generate sales in all areas of the contract commercial architectural and specifier market in accordance with a performance based sales target
  • Schedule and conduct product presentations with the A&D community within the Sydney Metropolitan Area on a regular basis, including the provision of sales literature, ownworld website presentations, environmental updates and technical product support. 
  • An indicative expectation of client visits would be: Five (5) to seven (7) product presentations weekly and Five (5) face-to-face client “catch-ups” per week – may include coffee, library refresh, product drop-off (loan rotation), social/general visit  
  • Organize a rotational system of product sample loans to architectural offices within the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
  • Customer liaison, communication, and support up to final order placement and confirmation of final details
  • Support and facilitate potential specifications in other global markets where potential exists, in collaboration with ownworld colleagues

Sales Support

  • Troubleshoot product placement issues or damages reports with Logistics

Marketing and PR

  • Represent Own World at trade and social events wherever required and PR when required
  • Propose event planning eg. Tradeshow attendance or showroom activities

Showroom

  • Contribute to day-to-day maintenance/tidiness of ownworld showroom display space for overall look, product placement and feature displays for client presentations
  • Propose product sample models
  • Ensure sales area and library resource is always tidy and maintained

Financial Communication 

  • Clear communication of company payment terms and financial processes
  • Keep Directors informed about client/customer credit status and advise appropriate action in the case of non-payment

Reporting

  • Report to the State Sales Manager NSW
  • Prepare weekly sales figures, quotation and pipeline forecasting reports
  • Provide weekly schedule of activities including client visitations and product
  • presentations arranged in advance. Deliver feedback on previous week’s activities
  • Maintain A&D database ongoing

Personal Development

Remuneration

A generous salary package including mobile phone allowance and commission structure will be offered to the successful candidate
