The Flooring Co. is an independent family-owned company specialising in boutique floor coverings representing high-end global brands. Built on honesty, integrity and transparency our main focus is our customers’ experience and fulfilling their brief.

We are sourcing a Part Time Retail Consultant to join our growing business, based in our Fortitude Valley design studio.

Through a collaborative design process, we explore individual needs, curate globally sourced selections that fulfil the design intent and deliver it through exceptional workmanship.

The role:

•Fielding sales enquiries and working closely with our clients to interpret their brief and propose products to fulfil their design intent


•Management of projects & logistics from enquiry through to final delivery

•Receiving & dispatching sample & online orders

•A high level of product and technical knowledge

•Supporting the Director with various tasks

•Interstate travel and attendance at industry events (may be required)

The role is initially 3 days per week (approx. 16 to 19 hours including Saturdays) with the opportunity to increase hours as the role evolves.

About you

You are a creative & design-obsessed individual with a growth mindset who is personable, ambitious, committed and efficient. You have a natural eye for interiors, textiles, colour and detail and an appreciation for quality.


•Experience in sales or a similar role with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding KPI’s

•Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships naturally

•Confident, driven, forward thinking & shows initiative

•Attention to detail yet efficient with the ability to prioritise

•The ability to work within a team to strive for team goals as well as autonomously

•A qualification in Interior Design or Decoration or similar (highly desirable)

•Experience in Photoshop, Indesign & Adobe (highly desirable)
