Our client is a large Australian manufacturer supplying Bedroom-Living-Office and Entertainment furniture to most of the largest retailers in Australia and New Zealand.
The client is determined to lead ‘by design;’ there is already a small quality design team in place, they now seek to add an experienced design manager who can inspire the team through both design capability and leadership.

With a new vision and new sales and marketing plan this is your opportunity to get involved at the development not only of new product concepts but also driving the company’s whole presentation to the market.  

This role offers the chance to showcase and present your designs to large retail stores and major project developments, to work with the sales team, the factory, retail buyers and project developers.

Above all your role will be to use your drive, skills and market knowledge to drive innovation and design within the organisation and importantly to lead by example and inspire the design team. 

We expect you to manage the Design team through leadership –innovation and inspiration.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• True design flair
• Experience in researching and identifying consumer need and designing products accordingly
• A passion for furniture design, consumer trends and fashion
• The ability to communicate your ideas with confidence and enthusiasm internally and externally
• Experience managing a design team
• A degree in Industrial Design
• Min 3 years experience in furniture design
